Minutes.io is a great web tool for teachers. It is a free and simple service for recording minutes during a meeting and share them right away. I really like how this tool works and i am quite sure you will like it too. You do not need to be a tech wizard to use it , it even does not necessitate an internet connection because your drafts are saved on your browser and when connectivity is there then you can  send them.

Linoit : Free awesome Stickies maker

Linoit is a free sticky and canvas service that does not require anything but a web  browser . Linoit is pretty much like Wallwisher , the sticky note organizer i have talked about before in a post entitled Wallwisher : a Great Digital Online Notice Board. If you know how to use Wallwisher then you would not have any issues with Linoit but if you are not using Wallwisher then follow this step by step tutorial to learn about Linoit and how to use it .

Primary Wall is a great collaborative sticky note service .This tool is different from the other sticky notes applications in that it does not require any sign up . Primary Wall is created with elementary school students in mind .It allows users to organize their notes in such an easy way that no extra or advanced technology knowledge is needed . It is ideal for students and i would really recommend everyone of you who has not tired it to do so .

Zen.do : easy note taking and flashcards making tool

Zen.do is a new web2.0 tool for note taking . It allows  students to takes notes while they are studying  .Zen.do has a built in word processor  where students write their own notes and highlight the important parts of their study materials to turn them into memorable flashcards .

Evernote : a new way to get organized in education

Evernote is one of the famous web2.0 tools online . It is a free resource that allows its you to “ capture anything , save your ideas , and access your information from anywhere using either a computer, or a phone and mobile devices. “ It works more or less like Springpad but with more advanced options for the latter. Here is a quick synopsis of the main features underlying Evernote services . Using Evernote , you will be able to :
  • Capture task lists, webpages, business cards , notes, pictures and clip web pages
  • Research websites and clip web pages directly from your browser

  • Create to do lists and leave a voice memo
  • Access and create notes via desktop , web , or mobile devices

First log on to Evernote main page . There are three ways you can use this app :
  • 1- download a desktop version of the software which will sync to the Evernote web server

  • 3- access it via a mobile device like: iphone, Blackberry, Android , and Windows mobile devices.

TrackClass : The best way to organize your students work

TrackClass is a free web2.0 tool . It is a wonderful free resource for students . It helps them organize their school work and allows them to track their classes and assignments, and send reminders in the form of emails and sms. TrackClass provides notetaking utility to students so that they can take notes on it or transcribe them later. I personally think that TrackClass is one of the indispensable tools educators should be using .

First , go to TrackClass main page and click on sign up . You need to sign up to benefit from the services of this applications , the registration is very easy and takes only a few seconds .

Quicklyst : The teacher’s dream tool

Quicklyst is a very great web2.0 tool. It is a note taking application that has an outline-style text box . It was created by Shantanu to facilitate taking and reviewing notes. Quicklyst provides you with a quick and instant access to some famous internet resources namely Wikipedia and the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. It is free and very simple and above all no login or registrations are required  to get started using it . Quicklyst can be downloaded , printed ,or delivered to kindle devices . You can now organize your notes into study guides or even put them into a study queue . It also allows its users to search their notes for any specific topic or subject . Its advanced search tool based on the DuckDuckGo search engine lets you type just a question mark followed by the terms you are looking for then the best results from the web will be displayed on your notes .To define a word ,you just type a colon followed by the word you want to define and upon hitting enter the Merriam-Webster will automatically generate the definition .

How can I get started using Quicklyst ?

First log on to Quicklyst main page
Remember you do not need to register to create a note but to save your notes you need to have a username and a password which takes less than a minute to do .Once you are at the main page you click on “start now for free” button

There are two text boxes ,click on the first one to enter the title for your notes . Then you click on the area underneath the title box to start taking the notes . To add a new line to your notes just click on the “enter” key on your keyboard. If you want to create an outline just use the tab and shift+tab , you can also use the up/down arrow keys to navigate between your different bulet points.
Once you finish writing your notes , you either save it to your study queue or to the rest of your notes . Here is the illustration:

To edit , view or delete your notes you need to click on “ all notes” button in the menu , a list of your notes will be displayed , just hover over a note and select from the icons what you want to do .

As the Quicklyst creater said “ Class notes could not be easier than Quicklyst “. This application was created mainly to help students , teachers and educators in their note taking . Just as we have seen with Audioboo in Education and Typewith.me in classroom , Quicklyst has many advantages in education as well .
