As Educators we always have recourse to files be it large or small. Weeither send or recieve files and in both cases we need good file sharing tools to ease our work. There are plenty of file sharing applications that can be used for free and without any registration . The purpose of this post and the other following posts  is to present to you some of the important sharing Tools we need to be using in our daily work .

Smart Notebook Search Engine : Great Resources for Smart Board Users

Are you using an interactive whiteboard ? if so then read this little post it is meant for you . I have been sent a very important URL which is about Smart Notebook search engine . This engine as its name entails helps those who are using Smart boards ( I am not using one by the way ) find resources designed to be used when teaching with a smart board .

Host-d.oddcast : Cartonize your Pictures into 3d Avatar

Host-d.oddcast is a great image editing tool . It allows its users to embed their pictures and cartonize them into 3d avatar . I find it similar if not better than Convert to Cartoon , the image tool i have covered in an earlier post entitled Convert to Cartoon : Turn your Pictures into Cartoons . I am one of the biggest fans of these tools as they are very helpful in teaching and students seem to show more interest and interaction when cartoons or avatars are included in a part of a  lesson.

Bit.ly : Shorten and Share Long URLs

Bit.ly is a great utility that  allows its users to shorten  long URLs and then share them with others . In education , tools such as Bit.ly , Sendoid , and Short Text are really very helpful and i think we must be aware of them and use them with our students . Storify : Create Compelling stories out of Social Media

Storify is a great web2.0 tool . It is an application that allows  users to create engaging stories out of tweets . You can also  create stories using social media and turn what people post on social media into compelling stories .

Storify offers a bunch of free features to its users :

Snip.ly :Snip and Share Your Favorite Parts of Webpages

Snip.ly is a cool web2.0 tool . It allows you to capture and share the best snips from your favorite websites . Just highlight a portion of a text in a webpage and clip it . You can then share the clipped portion with your friends or colleagues or use the generated URL to embed in an email for others to see . I love this tool because it lets me share my favorite parts of websites with my colleagues . You can try it too and see by yourself .
