Safe Search : The educative search engine ever

Safe Search is a search engine powered by  Google Custom Search and  designed for schools. Safe Search is focused more on younger kids but is a very useful IWB resource for elementary teachers . John McLear has sent me the link and to my great astonishment i found it extremely helpful for us in the field of education . I could not believe i missed such a search engine that is made just for schools and educators . I know the web is like an ocean no matter how far you swim you will never get to the other end .

  3. Click on Game Search to look for games or see their featured games

  4. Click on video search to look for multimedia items

Applications of Safe Search in Education

Safe Search provides another possibility for educators to improve their students learning . You can use this with your students to look for interesting online resources without having to worry about inappropriate content . You can also use its game search box to look for great games that you can include in your classroom . The site even features some of the best games online , this is very important given the interest and interaction students show when games are integrated into a lesson part .

Gradekeeper : a great mobile gradebook

Gradekeeper is a terrific grade book application for the iPad. It is actually one of the important apps teachers should have on their mobile devices . Gradekeeper makes dealing with grades easy .If you want to manage your grades on the go then you need to consider it. unfortunately Gradekeeper is not free but it is very cheap it costs $4.99.

PhotoPeach : Create Rich Media Slideshows for Free

A picture is worth a thousand words and the use of pictures in education is very crucial for they communicate  what words could not convey . So in my research for the photo editing , hosting and sharing tools i stumbled upon this nice application called PhotoPeach .

PhotoPeach is a free  online service that allows it users to create media rich slideshows .What i like the most about this tool is the fact that it supports background music .Integrating audio into photo slideshows makes them quite engaging and presentable .

Dropdo is a cool file sharing service . It is probably the easiest of all the tools i have covered so far . Dropdo , next to its ability to let you upload and share files with your friends , also allows others to view documents and pdfs  without downloading them ; hum Great isn’t it ? This preview functionality is what sets Dropdo apart from other file sharing services .

Senduit : The smart way to share files for free

Senduit is a free file sharing service . I have decided to include this tool in my free file sharing tools here because of its unique self destruct feature . If you are sharing a sensitive file using a url then you can select a time period after which the link to the file would expire .
