It is a collaborative tool that we can use with our students. Searching the web in such a way has never been this easy.  The purpose is to enhance a sense of collaboration and team work for our students .

The app is free so you will not pay a cent to use it . I am including this app into the mobile educative apps i am blogging about here because of its importance in education .

Now students can get an instant flow of info right into their hands and with the minimum time possible . All of us use Wikipedia in our researches and daily work and to have an app which would make you access this terrific encyclopedia everywhere you are is just great.

Dictionary.com is a great mobile app for students learning English. It delivers trusted reference content from Dictionary.com and Thesaurus.com, including nearly 1,000,000 words and definitions and 90,000 synonyms and antonyms. The app also provides audio pronunciation and the popular word of the day. Dictionary.com is really a good app to be included into your educative app store. I do recommend it for teachers and students.

FaceFlow: Free real time video conferencing

FaceFlow is a great web2.0 tool . It is a video conferencing system that allows up to four participants to video conference in real time. I know some teachers and educators get scary when it comes to online conferencing systems given the complexity and advanced technological knowledge they often require, but let me assure you that FaceFlow is completely different. It is very easy to use and does not call for any advanced tech skills .

  • It lets you watch videos with your contacts while you chat

  1. Click on Broadcast Room

  2. You need now to add contacts to chat with , remember just four participants are allowed

Applications of FaceFlow in education

I know FaceFlow does not allow for more than four participants to video conference which means that we can not use it with the whole class. But we can use it with lagging or struggling students who need extra reinforcement in their learning .I am pretty sure you can come up with other ideas of how to suit this tool to your teaching needs . Remember The random chat option that FaceFlow offers is not to be used with students without the teacher's supervision.
